HMK supports automation industry to keep moving

HMK is playing our part to keep the automation industry moving by supporting our customers and staff to work remotely.

Following the recent developments regarding the Covid-19 pandemic and the necessity for people to work from home, we’ve initiated a series of measures to support our customers’ and employees’ needs to work remotely.

HMK is at the forefront of innovation, and we already provide remote support to customers by utilising intelligent Internet-based remote access products, including Team Viewer and eWON.

We’re now providing even more one-to-one remote training to customers across our product range, and in particular on our core Siemens products including SINAMICS S120 and S210, SIMOTION and S7-1500T.

Over the past five years we have also invested heavily in moving our core IT and communications infrastructure into the cloud, so our entire workforce can access our platforms from anywhere.

Nick Calow, Technical Director at HMK, said: “We’d like to reassure all our customers and partners that we are very much open for business, while adhering to the advice set out by the Government and the World Health Organisation.

“From remote training and product support to sales and design, HMK is here for you. We have invested in the very latest in remote access technologies to ensure we can meet our customers’ needs from anywhere, and we have already been doing this with many of our customers for several years.

“The safety and wellbeing of our customers and workforce is our priority, and in line with Government guidance, our team of highly skilled automation engineers are now all working from home while continuing to provide the same high level of expertise and customer service that you’d expect from HMK.

“The manufacturing and engineering industries are being called upon to play an essential role in the response to the Covid-19 pandemic, so it’s vital that we remain operational for those customers, and we are proud to be doing our bit to keep automation moving.”

For customers carrying out essential work who are unable to access remote support, we have a core team available to provide onsite support. We remain committed to keeping our employees and customers safe and our onsite support team have been equipped with Personal Protective Equipment, and all work will be carried out in line with the strict social distancing guidelines set out by Government.
