Business Administration Apprentice

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our existing small team. Whilst your focus will be on the financial and accounting side of the business, you will also work in order processing and sales support giving you a full flavour of the demands and challenges within these areas.

By gaining interest and experience in these core functions, you will rapidly gain an insight into how a successful business operates and how your skills can be developed to drive your personal success and become an integral part of the business.

The qualification you will be working towards would be the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Qualification.

Apprenticeship summary

Annual wage

£10k to £15k - Applicant dependant

Working week

Monday - Thurs 8am - 5pm with 1 hour lunch

Friday 8am – 3pm – with 1 hour lunch

We are currently trialling 4.5 working with a 1pm finish on Friday

Expected duration

18 Months

Possible start date

Flexible depending on applicant’s availability

  • Processing payments, cash receipts and purchase invoices
  • Credit control
  • Processing and progressing orders received via email, etc.
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with visitors to the business

After completion of your apprenticeship, you will potentially have the opportunity to progress onto full-time positions within the business.

Electrical/Electronic Engineering Apprentice

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and driven individual who has a passion for technology, to work within our technical team. HMK provide a wide range of key UK industries with automation products and solutions.

The successful candidate must have a demonstrable enthusiasm for technology and a passion for how things work is a given.

The qualification you will be working towards would be the Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship Qualification.

As part of the engineering team you will be working in various roles throughout your apprenticeship, typically including:

  • Supporting customers either via phone or using online tools
  • Putting together a solution for the customer using selection software and working with more experienced colleagues
  • Configuring or programming
  • Liaising with our suppliers on a technical level
  • Working with the sales team to deliver solutions to customers
  • Electrical panel design build/test
  • Software writing and testing
  • Test and design electrical/mechanical sub assemblies

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • A permanent position will typically be offered to successful candidates upon completion of their apprenticeship
  • Opportunity will be given to progress on to a higher-level apprenticeship
  • The potential opportunity to progress on to more senior engineering roles within the business.

Business Development Manager – Northern Region

 

Overview

HMK is one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of industrial automation equipment. Established

over 40 years, we partner with UK machinery manufacturers and system integration customers to achieve the successful deployment of industrial motion control solutions to all industry sectors.

Role

The role will assist the business in delivering its long-term goal to become the market-leading force applying intelligent technology and expertise to the UK machinery manufacturing market, with commensurate sales performance to match this aspiration.

Primarily focused on delivering sales volume growth within the assigned geographic area (M62/M6/A1M corridors) over pre-existing levels. This will be achieved using the company-recognised sales process, procedures, best practices, and strategic selling methods.

Key Attributes

We are looking for a highly motivated and target-driven individual with proven work experience in technical product sales. Strong sales and negotiation skills combined with excellent communication and time management will be needed to succeed. Certified Technical or Sales qualifications are deemed beneficial, although not essential as in-house training will be provided.

Employment Particulars

  • Place of Work

The usual place of work will be at the Company's premises in Congleton.

  • Hours of Work

Normal working hours are,

Monday to Thursday - 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, Friday - 8.00 am to 4.00 pm.

(We are currently trialling an earlier finishing time of 1 pm on Fridays).

  • Remuneration

Competitive salary dependent on experience.

  • Bonus

Bonus scheme based on both personal and company performance.

  • Car Allowance

Eligibility to company car allowance scheme.

  • Pension

The Company complies with its statutory obligations relating to auto-enrolment pension schemes (Enrolment is deferred for 3 months following the date employment commences).

  • Holiday Entitlement

Entitlement of 24 days holiday in each holiday year in addition to public holidays.

Prerequisites

  • Valid UK Diving Licence
  • Existing eligibility to work in the UK.
